Our First Hafizs Received Their Ijazahs!

Our İSAR Quran Memorization School in Kampala has produced its first graduates. 36 students from all across Uganda completed their memorization through your support and walked to the podium in their white robes.

As the Çare Association, the İSAR Quran Memorization School—which we opened in Uganda's capital, Kampala, in 2023—has borne its first fruits after a three-year intensive education process. Selected from different regions of Uganda and admitted to our school, 36 young students completed their memorization by committing the entire Holy Quran to memory; at the same time, they underwent comprehensive instruction in basic Islamic sciences.

Broad Participation from Türkiye and Uganda

The graduation ceremony held in Kampala was met with great acclaim from Türkiye and Uganda. Alongside the families of our hafizes, representatives from the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council and religious institutions, members of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Kampala, representatives from the Directorate of Religious Affairs (Diyanet), staff and executives from the Hüdayi Foundation, Turkish non-governmental organizations in Uganda, representatives from Turkish Airlines, university rectors, muftis, and opinion leaders attended our program.

The ceremony, which also drew intense interest from the Ugandan public, was broadcast live on national television channels and followed by a large audience on social media.

Throughout the program, our hafizes' Quran recitations, along with their Turkish hymns and naats, captivated hearts. The speeches delivered highlighted the importance of Quranic education for the future of Africa, the bonds of brotherhood between Türkiye and Uganda, and the support provided to these services by the people of Anatolia.

Our 36 Hafizes on the Podium

The most emotional moments of the ceremony occurred when the names of our 36 hafizes were called one by one to invite them to the podium. Dressed in their pristine white robes and turbans, our students formed what seemed like a ring of light. As families witnessed the culmination of their children's years of effort, they could not hold back their tears while takbirs echoed through the venue. Diplomas and gifts were presented to our hafizes during the ceremony.

40 More Hafizes are Next in Yumbe

Alongside our work in Kampala, we continue our services in Uganda through orphanages, Quranic courses, and various educational activities. Our educational and guidance activities carried out in the northern Yumbe region, which shares historical ties with the Ottoman Empire, also continue to bear fruit.

It is planned that 40 hafizes who are continuing their education in Yumbe will receive their diplomas in the coming months, and a separate memorization ceremony will be organized in the region.

From Uganda to Tanzania, From Tanzania to Kenya

Our efforts to establish permanent educational centers in different African countries continue at full speed.

The construction of the large Islamic Complex we built in Tanzania has been completed; following the furnishing process, we aim for our complex to begin operation within approximately two months. Members of our board of directors and executive committee will travel to the region to oversee the preparations on-site.

Meanwhile, the Hüsnü Bayramoğlu Education Complex, which we implemented in Kenya, is rising as a versatile educational and healthcare complex featuring Quran memorization and formal education units, a mosque, health sciences, and hospital departments. With our educational complexes, health centers, and guidance activities in Uganda, Tanzania, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, and Kenya, we aim to further expand our permanent service network in Africa as of 2027.

That day in Kampala, when turbans were placed on the heads of 36 young individuals and families embraced their children in tears, was etched in memory as one of the finest fruits of this educational and brotherhood mobilization extending from Anatolia to Africa.
