Due to the ongoing conflict in Syria since 2011, many families had to leave their homes and live in tents. Intense conflicts, especially in the past years, caused a new wave of migration. Due to the worsening of winter conditions, the need for qualified shelter in the region became vital.
In the Briquette House Project, which was started last year, Çare Association completed 66 houses and delivered them to families in need. In the past weeks, the construction of 10 more briquette houses has been completed and opened by the Çare Association teams.
With the Briquette houses we have built in Idlib, we help families who are victims of war living in the region to shelter in cold weather. While determining families in need, priority was given to families with widows, disabilities or orphans. Briquette houses provided some shelter to families who had to leave their homes in Syria. It is obvious that tents are insufficient to protect people from heat and cold, and when the conflicts did not end for years, we offered a solution to the sheltering problem of immigrant families with this briquette house project we have done.
“We are just the means.”
