Latest Situation in Afghanistan

In many parts of Afghanistan, which is ruled by the interim Taliban government, people are facing starvation. According to the report published by the United Nations, approximately 23 million people in the country are undernourished.

Our teammates in the field stated that seventy-five percent of those in need are women and children. People suffer severely because of political uncertainty and economic problems. Drought is increasing the problem of food supply day by day.

Train of Kindness for Humanity

As Çare Association, we did not remain indifferent to this human tragedy and participated in the 4th Expedition of the Goodness Train, which departed from Ankara on 29 March. With your donations, we loaded two wagons of food parcels and flour to the train. The train is expected to arrive in Herat, Afghanistan during the month of Ramadan. With your support, we have provided some support to approximately 1,000 families in this absence.

Iftar Tables in the Mazar-i Sharif

Our support to Afghanistan continued with the activities of our teammates in the field. We gave iftar meals in orphanages and mosques on 17 days of Ramadan. With these iftars, we met with our 3,500 Afghan brothers and sisters at the same table. We distributed food to 400 families.

On behalf of the Afghan people, we would like to thank all our donors who did not remain silent in this humanitarian tragedy.

“We are just the means.”
