Food, Water, and Health Aid Delivered to Mandera
With the support of its donors, Çare Association carried out a comprehensive humanitarian relief operation in Mandera, a Kenyan city near the Somali border, where refugees struggling with poverty and drought are living in dire conditions. Food packages, cash assistance, clean water, and healthcare support were delivered to those in need in the region.
The Harsh Struggle for Survival in Mandera
In Mandera, one of Kenya’s poorest regions, refugees who fled from the ongoing conflicts in Somalia are fighting for survival under extremely difficult circumstances. Malnutrition, lack of access to clean water, and inadequate healthcare services are among the most critical problems in the area.
During our field observations, we encountered many individuals in urgent need of help — including disabled persons, paralyzed patients, and mothers in severe health conditions. Although the assistance provided is vital, the overwhelming number of hungry and impoverished people in the region highlights the urgent need for more food and water support.
Comprehensive Aid That Touches Lives
To bring a breath of relief to those enduring these harsh conditions, we at Çare Association mobilized your entrusted donations. Our activities included:
• Food Packages Delivered to Homes:
Food packages containing essential nutrition items were distributed to hundreds of families in Mandera. Elderly, sick, and disabled individuals who could not reach the distribution centers were not forgotten — our teams personally visited their homes to deliver the aid.
• Charity and Zakat Distributed in Cash:
Charitable donations and zakat contributions sent by our donors were converted into local currency and distributed in cash, allowing families to meet their most urgent needs according to their priorities.
• Clean Water Support Provided:
To help ease the severe water shortage in the region, water tanks were deployed to supply clean water and support local access to safe drinking water.
• A Promise to Restore Sight:
During one of our visits, it was discovered that an elderly woman could regain her vision through a simple surgery. We pledged to cover all her medical expenses — including the operation, medications, and nutritional needs during her recovery period.
A Helping Hand from Türkiye, Changing Lives in Africa
